FAQ
How does lookup work, and why does it take so long?
Behind the scenes we convert your SteamID into a BM ID and pull confirmed real server hours from several independent sources. On your end it's just dropping in a SteamID and waiting a bit, but under the hood it's a full pipeline. That's exactly why no one else can surface this data for 99.9% of existing Steam profiles.
How reliable is your system, and how many profiles do you support?
Our methods are unique, which lets us support around 99.9% of accounts. 0 hours in Rust? Supported. Private BM or Steam profile? Yep.
What does "synced members" mean?
Synced users are profiles we've already gathered data for, so we can process them much faster, usually within 15-30 seconds. First-seen profiles take a little longer, around 1-3 minutes.
What is the search queue?
Because of how our system works, we can only process a limited number of lookups at the same time. When every slot is busy, new requests wait in the queue and run automatically as soon as one frees up.
Are you affiliated with any server organization?
No. Unlike some others, we don't rely on shared tokens from any major organization.
What's the difference between BMSearch and other services?
We run on our own independent methods instead of shared organization tokens. That means broader coverage, including private profiles, and players that other tools simply can't resolve. We won't ask you to join some random server ^_^
How accurate are the hours shown?
They're not 100% accurate, so don't take the number as gospel. No service can confirm every hour, because that would require global tracking across every single server. Facepunch and majority CIS-based servers aren't tracked and don't share their player lists, and the same goes for some PvE and low-pop servers. And if a server shuts down or resets its records, that playtime is gone with it.
Is it normal for an account to show XXXX hours on Steam but 0 hours on BMSearch?
Usually you'll see something, but it can happen. If a player spent all their time on servers we can't track, the result may come back as 0, in that case we'd recommend cross-checking with another service like RustStats.io.
What is Force Refresh?
Force Refresh lets you re-fetch a profile's data right away, bypassing the usual cooldown and limits. It's restricted to a select group of users to prevent abuse.
